Bridgend-based disabled children’s charity, Y Bont, is at risk of closing down due to cuts in funding.
The charity cares for children with multiple conditions and disabilities, including autism, hearing and visual impairment, cystic fibrosis, cerebral palsy, life-limiting conditions and complex medical needs.
And now it needs to raise the daunting sum of £50,000 to remain open.
As soon as the news reached our office, we immediately started thinking of ways we could help – enter the 'Goal Face Selfie'.
After the huge success of the 'No Make-up Selfie' campaign earlier this year – which raised millions for Cancer Research UK - we worked with Y Bont to create the Goal Face Selfie challenge. And the challenge is simple – all you have to do is take a selfie of yourself celebrating a goal, post it on Facebook or Twitter, donate and then nominate a friend to do the same.
The campaign ties in nicely with the Football World Cup - which is shortly due to start in Brazil – so hopefully people will be celebrating daily!

As well as the Goal Face Selfie challenge, we've organised a 12 hour five-a-side football tournament, inviting local companies such as Sainsbury’s Bridgend and Tata Steel to take part, as well as fielding our own teams.
But that's not all.
The event will also consist of a family fun day, with lots of activities on offer such as:
Stalls offering raffles, food, drink and other items
Character appearances (from films such as Frozen)
Fun children's play activities
A fire engine – courtesy of Bridgend Fire Station – where the children can sit in the driver’s seat and have their photo taken. They will also be able to try on uniforms and fire hats.
Y Bont isn't asking for the world – just an ounce of kindness that will have a priceless impact on the children's lives.
