It's a very isolating experience for the parent of a disabled child.

It's hard to explain to somebody how important Y Bont has been to us and it's made the difference to us between coping and not coping many many times.

Y Bont is an independent not-for-profit organisation, based in Bridgend.

Oh I have seen a massive change in Tristin, when he first came to the school he was, well, he didn't move very much at all. And now he's sort of crawling and sitting, and now he's interacting with the other children which he didn't do before, so yeah he's come a long way.

Jack's got Delay, he has problems with his eating, moving his arms and his limbs. His sight has improved lately, his sensory move and sight, just generally his attitude, contentness, he loves coming here, and what they do here, you can tell he is happy in the mornings when you drop him off and he doesn't want to leave when you pick him up.

The school needs to continue for the simple reason that they don't have this facility in Bridgend and there are a lot of families in pretty desperate situations.

Y Bont helps over 150 disabled children and their families.

We wouldn't have Jack where he is at the moment, we wouldn't have progressed as far as he has progressed.

There so experienced and just so approachable that they are like my second family, they really are like a home from home.

This year Y Bont need to raise another £50,000 to maintain these essential services.
