Insurance Adviser Lloyd and Barnes Enters Charity Football Tournament

Lloyd and Barnes, an insurance adviser based in Cwmbran, South Wales, has announced a team that will take part in our 12 hour 5-a-side football tournament, which is being held this Sunday from 8am – 8pm at Pencoed Comprehensive School.

The tournament is being held in aid of Y Bont, a disabled children’s nursery charity which has recently received cuts in funding. There will be a family fun day running simultaneously with the tournament with an abundance of fun activities on offer for the whole family to enjoy.

Lloyd and Barnes’ team, of the same name, will be captained by Chris Buckley. Chris has previously taken part in the Great South Run and a road bike event from London to Brighton, both in aid of the British Heart Foundation. Chris, in his own words, is bringing the experience while the rest of the team is bringing the energy. The team consists of:

    • Josh Phillips
    • Jack Pewtner
    • Aaron Pewtner
    • Jamie Kennard
    • Zack Gibson
    • Glyn Thomas

Chris had the following to say about entering his team for the event:

“We’ve got a young group of lads who are keen footballers, so as soon as we heard about the tournament we very keen to enter.

We were not aware of Y Bont before this event, but from what we’ve heard about them, the work they do and the services they provide for the local community is simply invaluable. It’s clearly a facility that cannot afford to shut down, so it’s great for us to be involved in doing some fundraising for them.

In terms of the football itself, we’re quietly confident. The boys are talking a good talk around the office so they’re definitely up for it. We’ll just have to wait and see what happens on Sunday – it will definitely be nice to get our hands on that trophy!”

Lloyd and Barnes are a relatively new business, but have rapidly expanded over the past few months. Part of their service includes sports insurance, specifically; insurance for footballers. However, we’re crossing our fingers that there aren’t any serious injuries on Sunday!

That being said, there will definitely be healthy competition and plenty of entertainment on offer, so why not bring your family down for a day out? Not only will you be able to cheer on the teams, you can also enjoy the wealth of activities that the family fun day has on offer – and help out a great cause while doing so!
