    ITCS ‘All Stars’ Team Announced

    ITCS all stars team announced

ITCS have announced its first of two teams to be entered into Sunday’s 12 hour 5-a-side football tournament. The tournament is being held in conjunction with a family fun day at Pencoed Comprehensive School to raise money for local disabled children’s charity, Y Bont.

ITCS’s Managing Director, Brian Stokes, will be fulfilling the role of team captain, with the rest of team consisting of:

    • Merrick Kimber
    • Matthew Mutlow
    • Glyn Pearce
    • Bill Gannon
    • Aled Andrews

ITCS’s directors have been involved with numerous charity activities over the years so were eager to submit a team and provide sponsorship to help out such a great cause. ITCS also work closely on a regular basis with Welsh Women’s Aid, a group that offers support and campaigns on behalf of women and children who suffer domestic abuse.

As well as taking part in the tournament, ITCS are kindly sponsoring both the tournament and fun day along with Porters, a Bridgend-based estate agent.

Brian had the following to say about the event:

“We’re always keen to give something back and we were particularly eager to make this event happen. Y Bont are Bridgend-based, so very local to us, and the work they do is simply priceless. We can’t let the facility face closure so that’s why we’re here to help.”

Brian, a keen sportsman with a self-professed competitive edge, was extremely enthusiastic about the 12 hour marathon football 5-a-side football tournament. He said:

“Myself and the rest of the team are really looking forward to the football tournament! We’ve been putting in some extra training leading up to it and will be going all out, no holds barred – magic sponges, ice packs, shin pads – the works. ITCS will be entering another team so there will be bragging rights on offer – and the All Stars definitely won’t be walking into work on Monday with our heads down, that’s for sure!

There will be a few sore bodies come 8pm but it will be more than worth it if we raise, and hopefully exceed, our target fundraising amount for Y Bont which is £5000.”

Brian’s excitement is shared by all of the other teams that are taking part, so the tournament is shaping up to be highly entertaining with plenty of goals and champagne football on offer.

Everyone is welcome, so if you feel like taking advantage of the rare summer sunshine we’ve been having lately then come on down to join in the fun, and help a fantastic charity while doing so!
